David J David's mission is to use his music and talent to promote love and unity. He is passionate about creating positive change and supporting community development projects. David is an advocate for peace and human rights.
EXPERIENCE
Born in Sudan during the war, his father discovered his talent for music at a young age. Coming from a family of talented musicians, David was inspired to begin composing songs and learning diverse instruments. His love for music started at a younger age and when he was 16 years old he owned his first musical instrument, the harmonica. In 1993, he started playing bass guitar for Comboni College Khartoum (CCK band), where he got the nickname "Didier Masela", after the famous bass player for Wenge Musica from Congo. In 2000, he moved to Cairo, Egypt where he co-founded the band Tandy Musica and performed as the lead singer and guitarist. David immigrated to Canada in 2004, where he continued in his musical journey with Dr. Zoo band as a lead guitar player and back up singer. David continues to tour North America with diverse artists and shares his unique style of music for various audiences. In 2012, he formed David J David Band, a multicultural group which plays Afro-Fusion styles. David has been featured on CBC Radio, CBC Television, Rogers Television and Shaw TV.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP
Coming from a country that emerged from decades of civil war, David is committed to use his music as a tool to empower, educate and send messages of peace, hope and love. David is an active citizen who gives back to help build his community. He volunteers and plays music for the homeless at The Mustard Seed Street Ministry and Ambassador for FEED 1 Project. David has been featured on CBC Radio, CBC Television, Rogers Television and Shaw TV.
